Compile errors waste your most expensive hour.

Cryptic logs

"Missing $ inserted." Where? Why? The log points to line 312, but the real bug is 80 lines up.

Endless Googling

You context-switch to Stack Exchange, scroll five answers, and still aren't sure which applies to your file.

Deadlines don't wait

It's midnight before submission. A trailing brace just ate 40 minutes you needed for the abstract.

One extension. Three things you'll actually use.

01

Plain-English error explanations

LaTeXER parses your compile log and rewrites each error in human language — pointing to the exact line that caused it, not where TeX gave up.

  • 200+ common errors mapped
  • Tracks the root cause across \input and \include
  • BibTeX, biber, and amsmath aware
main.tex — error panel
Error Undefined control sequence\citep needs natbib in preamble.
Warning Overfull \hbox on page 7 — long URL in footnote.
Fixed Missing } after \label{eq:einstein.
02

One-click fix suggestions

For most common errors we propose a diff. Review it, accept it, and the patch lands in your editor. No copy-pasting from a forum.

  • Diff preview before any change
  • Undo with one shortcut
  • Never touches files you didn't open

Privacy-friendly by default

Your draft stays in Overleaf. We only send the compile log and the surrounding code lines — never your whole document.

  • Log + 20 lines of context, nothing else
  • No training on your files
  • Delete your data anytime

From red error to green check — in three steps.

  1. 1

    Install in Chrome

Install the Chrome extension from your provided beta package. Open any Overleaf project — it activates automatically.

  2. 2

    Hit Recompile as usual

If the build fails, a sidebar opens with the plain-English error and a suggested diff. No new workflow to learn.

  3. 3

    Click "Apply fix"

Review the diff, accept it, and re-run. Most projects build green in one round.

How do I use my license?

After registering below, you'll receive a license key (e.g. ld_live_xxxxxx). Open Chrome, go to the LaTeXER extension icon → Options, and paste the key in the "License key" field. Click Verify. That's it.

Pro ($9.99/mo or ¥38/mo) — 1,000 fixes/month on up to 2 devices. Perfect for solo researchers.
Max ($19.99/mo or ¥78/mo) — 3,000 fixes/month, 5 devices, and priority processing. Great for active thesis writers.
Ultra ($49.99/mo or ¥158/mo) — unlimited fixes, 10 devices, higher polish/rewrite limits, and a dedicated support channel.

Frequently asked

Does it work outside Overleaf?

For now, LaTeXER is built around Overleaf's editor and log panel. Local TeX (TeXShop, VS Code LaTeX Workshop) is on the roadmap once beta stabilizes.

Is my paper sent to a server?

Only the compile log plus a small window of code around each error (about 20 lines). We never send full sections, bib files, figures, or PDFs.

What kinds of errors does it handle?

Around 200 of the most common compile failures — missing braces, undefined commands, bibliography mismatches, math mode issues, package conflicts, and overfull boxes. Edge cases get plain-English context even when we can't auto-fix.

Will you train on my LaTeX?

No. Your code is used to answer your request and then discarded. You can delete your account data at any time.

Do you offer a student discount?

Yes — $5.99/month or $47.88/year with a verified .edu email. Available when paid checkout opens for your region.
